coconut fibre string bag
Tackling the astronomical waste problem our world is facing, begins with small, considered steps within our very own homes. With 10 billion plastic bags being used globally every week, a beautiful, eco-friendly alternative are our string bags - handmade from the waste product of mature coconut husks. Strong, flexible and incredibly durable, they are perfect for shopping, storing fruits and vegetables, taking to the beach or as a library bag.
The bags are handmade by the Araliya Community in Sri Lanka - a collective group of women who also contribute part of their proceeds to school for the deaf.
Each bag measures approximately 45cm x 34cm. (Please note; our bags have black thread at the top, not yellow as pictured)
